You can purchase travel insurance based on the type of trip you are going to take and the coverage you need according to your destination: IATI Basic, IATI Standard, IATI Star, and IATI Backpacker.

The main difference between the first three is the coverage for medical and health assistance abroad. The IATI Basic travel insurance covers up to 35,000 USD in medical expenses, the IATI Standard covers up to 100,000 USD, the IATI Backpacker covers up to 200,000 USD, and the IATI Star covers up to 500,000 USD with the option to add a supplement that covers up to 1,000,000 USD.

For short trips to nearby countries in South America, you can hire the IATI Basic.

If you are traveling to Europe, we recommend the IATI Standard with medical assistance coverage up to 100,000 USD, which meets the requirements for traveling to the Schengen Area, in addition to including other essential coverages.

IATI Backpacker: is an assistance service tailored for adventurous travelers and backpackers, offering medical and health coverage abroad up to 200,000USD.

For traveling to destinations such as the United States, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, where healthcare is especially expensive, we recommend our IATI Estrella assistance.

No, the assistance amount is not refundable. This additional only covers expenses incurred by any of the 'travel providers', that is, flights, hotels, etc.

No, each voucher outlines the reasons for annulment/cancellation included therein and for which one is entitled to a refund of the expenses that are not reimbursed by the travel provider.

Valuables are covered at up to 50% of the policy limit. Petty theft is not covered, meaning the theft of baggage without your awareness while you are, for example, in a restaurant or at an airport.

Do I have to advance the cost of medical expenses?

If you call the 24-hour Permanent Care Operational Center of the assistance service to request medical aid, you won't have to advance the payment for medical expenses. We will take care of everything.

If it's an emergency and you are already being assisted, you will continue to be covered, but you will have to pay the expenses and you will be reimbursed upon your return up to the limit of your coverages, by presenting the receipts. Even in this case, you must call as soon as possible and we will inform you of the procedure to follow.
